At the age of eight, Shannon Johnson received the heartbreaking diagnosis of leukemia. Following many months of cancer treatments and extended hospital stays, Shannon went into remission.  The good news was short lived however when just two years later she relapsed.  This time Shannon would need chemo, total body radiation, and a bone marrow transplant.  She is once again in remission!  The heartache, stress and financial obligations have been a tremendous burden to her family.  A year later, Shannon is still happily in remission but will need continued medical care for years to come.  Because of this, family and friends of Shannon have come together to hold a fundraising event.  This fundraiser will include a 5K race, live and silent auctions, a pancake breakfast, a kid’s corner and more!

I am writing this letter to ask for your donation and support for this worthwhile project.  It is our goal as a community to raise enough money to cover all associated costs of the fundraiser so that any excess donations and all entry fees collected will go directly to the Johnson family.

With a minimum cash donation of $250, your business will have their logo/name printed on the back of the TEAM SHANNON fundraising t-shirts.  All sponsors contributing over $250 will also have the opportunity to have their company banner displayed at the event. This banner should be provided by your business.  Donations less than $250 will be posted and announced. In addition to cash donations, we are also accepting goods and services to be auctioned. Any donation amount is appreciated and welcome.

I thank you in advance for your time and consideration to this worthy endeavor.  I look forward to any and all support you are able to provide.  Feel free to contact me with any questions. Donations can be made out to “Team Shannon” available for deposit at America First Credit Union or sent directly to me.

After everything she has been through, Shannon is a beacon of hope, a source of strength and an example to all who know and love her.  She and her family remain positive and hopeful during this very difficult time.

Sincerely,
